January 2025 – The does were moved into the new barn! I LOVE it and I think they do too!
We’re working by flashlight/lantern until the power is installed.
NOTE: the white stuff on the floor of the barn is calcium chloride for dust control. The rock dust flooring packs hard but is very dusty especially when the wind blows! The calcium chloride will dissolve/melt and will completely stop the dust. It is used for dirt roads for the same reason. It works great!
We drove up to West Virginia to pick up a Farmall 140 tractor. We took young Sheba with us and she was such a joy. She never complained and never had an ‘accident’ in the vehicle or the hotel.
A big THANK YOU to Kevin and Carla Kirby for allowing us to use their new 16′ flatbed to pick it up. We didn’t trust our old wooden 16′ flatbed since it does not have any breaks.
I had the most fun at the Evin Evans Spring Spectacular show in Shelby NC this weekend. Probably one of the most, if not THE most fun ever. I have been reflecting on why it was so incredibly enjoyable for me and think I know…. It was the love and fellowship with amazing friends. Thank you everyone for being so kind, caring, helpful, encouraging, and genuinely good people…. Joan Williams Carlson ( and Dave!), Sandra Coffman , Jessicà Bell, Linda Giles , Jessica Wilbur, Robin Hayden Lovings, young man Reed, Paul Fox, Mark Cobble, the humourous and knowledgeable judges and many other folks I talked with. You all rock and I truly enjoyed my time with you Thank you all!
The Lamancha classes were packed with gorgeous goats and I was thrilled when they placed so well! I think I am on track with my breeding program but apparently need to put my girls on a serious diet because they have extreme ‘excess fleshing’. As always, the judge’s comments were extremely helpful

2nd day at the Evin Evans Show in Shelby NC and Milkshake is so bored. She is so much like her dam who also liked to make music. She also managed to win a Reserve Champion and a Grand Champion today.
I had a blast again! Stayed in my tent (almost was blown away due to a strong thunderstorm) and still managed to get some rest. My does did very well: (2 yr/2F) MLRT Caramel Macchiato won Grand Champion (and BOB) in Ring 1.Then her dam, (3yr/3F) MLRT Vanilla Latte won Grand Champion in Ring 2. I am thrilled!!!!
